The project has delivered a purpose-built indoor sports hall designed in line with Sport England guidance, ensuring full compliance with recognised national standards for indoor sports facilities. The building has been carefully integrated within the existing school environment, with a contemporary external appearance and robust, low-maintenance materials selected for long-term durability.
Internally, the Sports Hall provides a high-quality, multi-use space finished to modern sports standards. Works included a compliant sports floor with clear court markings, high-level energy-efficient LED lighting to provide consistent illumination, and acoustic treatments to enhance comfort and usability.
A strong focus was placed on sustainability and energy efficiency. The building is served by air source heat pumps and high-efficiency LED lighting throughout, reducing operational energy demand and running costs. These measures enabled the Sports Hall to achieve an A-rated EPC.
The project was delivered within a live school environment and completed in line with the agreed programme. A structured handover was undertaken, with full statutory certification, commissioning information and operation and maintenance documentation provided to support immediate occupation.
The completed Sports Hall is a high-quality addition to LGS Stoneygate School, delivering a modern, efficient and compliant facility that will support the school’s sporting and educational needs for many years to come.
