The Pears, Repton School

The Pears

Student Cafe & Social Club

Bailey Construction has successfully completed the transformation of four former language classrooms within the Grade II listed Pears Building at Repton School into a vibrant new student cafe and social hub.

The project involved the careful reconfiguration of the existing layout, structural alterations and a comprehensive internal refurbishment to create a modern, flexible space that supports collaboration and informal learning.

Working within a listed building of significant heritage value required a sensitive and considered approach. Original stonework and architectural detailing have been retained and enhanced, while contemporary finishes, bespoke joinery and upgraded services deliver a high-quality environment suited to modern student life.

The completed space successfully balances historic character with contemporary design, providing Repton School with a welcoming and functional social facility at the heart of its campus.

This scheme further demonstrates Bailey Construction’s expertise in delivering complex refurbishment projects within heritage and educational environments across the Midlands.
